"When I realised the impact of human activities on the environment, especially as a mother watching my teenage children grow , I knew I had to act," Samantha shares, reflecting on her journey. Living across Argentina, the UK, and the UAE, her diverse experiences shaped her perspective on the dire need for action. She fondly recalls, "As a mother, watching my three teenage children make their own ways into the world, I’ve grown inspired to contribute positively to the future they are inheriting."

Samantha's Proudest Initiatives:

The Blue House Programme with Stuchtey Daughters & Sons, Kelp Blue, and the Kelp Forest Foundation. "Empowering Namibian students, especially women, to foster their scientific talent in natural ecosystems is truly close to my heart."

Her leadership role with the Kelp Forest Foundation focuses on establishing the value of cultivated kelp forests. "Kelp forests sequester massive amounts of carbon and provide solutions to climate change," she highlights.

But how does she motivate others? "By being an inspiration," Samantha emphasises. From sharing stories on social media to speaking at public events, she leverages the power of storytelling to inspire action.

"A monumental change only has to start with one person," she believes. Indeed, Samantha's tireless dedication is evident. She has even encouraged her daughter, Georgia, to join the “solardakrevolutie”, aiming to cover Dutch schools with solar systems.

And who inspires her? The formidable Wangari Maathai. "Through her Green Belt Movement, she planted millions of trees, empowering women and local communities. Her story serves as a reminder of the transformative power of grassroots efforts."

To those seeking to make a change, Samantha's message is clear: "Hope has its sleeves rolled up. Every small step matters."
