New Energies in China

Meer over dit event

According to the International Energy Agency, 36% and 40% of the world’s growth in solar and wind energy in the next five years will come from China. As stated in China’s 14th five-year plan, it will lift investment restrictions on coal, oil, gas, power generations and new energy business as part of its strategy between 2021 – 2025.

Now it’s the right time for European technology companies specialized in cleantech solutions to enter into Chinese Market. The country has encouraged foreign investment in solar and wind technology to help for its capacity ambition. And renewable power projects do not require a Chinese person or entity serving as the majority shareholder.

However, as energy sector in China is highly policy driven and that regulations can have an immediate impact on investment, how can European energy companies face the situation? How to facilitate the process of market entry? What are the challenges that European energy tech companies are expecting?
